Register now for the Official 2008 Economic Development Conference
Tuesday, 05 February 2008
Mark you calendar to attend the annual EDABC BC’s Economic Development Conference, which will be held in Prince George from May 4-6. The Conference hotel is the Coast Hotel. Call for reservations today (Reference #CIN-GFC3472) – hotel Tel: 1-250-563-0121.

In addition to SATSAN (Herb George), President First Nations Government Center, we have also been able to secure Storm Cunningham as an additional keynote speaker.

Storm’s keynote will reveal what many call the most powerful and positive trend of the 21st century. This talk will be based on Storm's groundbreaking 2002 book, The Restoration Economy, but will tell the story via a multitude of dramatic before-and-after photos of communities and nature coming back to life. It will also include the latest updates to his thinking on the subject.

Storm is widely considered the foremost global advocate of restorative development. He was the first to document the 8 giant, fast-growing industries that are renewing our natural and built environments. Together, they form the multi-trillion-dollar global "restoration economy." The restoration economy is the largest and fastest-growing realm of opportunity for investors, developers, schools, non-profits, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. At a time when our world seems to be coming apart at the seams, don’t miss this opportunity to discover why our children’s future will likely be healthier, wealthier, and more beautiful.

Storm's 3-hour workshop will quite literally be an historic event. It’s based on Storm’s new book, Rewealth! (published by McGraw-Hill), which will be coming off the printing presses just four days before this conference. EDABC conference attendees will be the very first people on the planet—in the universe, even—to purchase and read Rewealth!. The author himself will be seeing his new book for the first time in Prince George!

In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll discover the "universal" rules for revitalizing your community. It will start with a highly entertaining 60-minute talk, followed by two hours of free-ranging discussion that will allow you to tap Storm’s vast experience. Since The Restoration Economy was published in 2002, his entire professional life has been spent in conferences, workshops, projects, and initiatives related to restoring natural resources and revitalizing communities all around the globe. He took advantage of this unique perspective to go on a search for the core principles of successful renewal…the factors that contribute to spectacular renewal success in virtually any situation, urban or rural.
